Purpose

The South African Manufacturing Working Group exists to advance the interest of the South African manufacturing sector within the bigger mandate of enhancing trade and investment among the five BRICS countries.

Role

Manufacturing Working Group seeks not only to facilitate trade in manufacturing among the five countries but also to encourage co-operation on projects where there is potential for collaboration or complementarity.

MWG Project Showcase

The project showcase creates opportunities for manufacturing project owners to pitch to possible funders for funding, market access and other business support

NB Brics Business Council and the Manufacturing Working Group do not provide funding

Projects must comply with the following

  • Be investment ready
  • Total project value >R50M
  • Show economic impact and ESG impact, i.e. develop SMES , create employment and replace imports
  • 5-10 ROI or positive NPV or sustainable and feasible revenue forecast
  • Enhance export capability of SA or support the objective of the Brics Businesses Council to increase trade and investment between the Brics partners
