The recent BRICS Business Council AGM in Brazil presented an opportunity for delegates from
Global South countries to lay the groundwork for participating in an unfolding economic
landscapе.
The knowledge shared at the AGM was a testimony to the important work that has already been
done to achieve this goal of economic transformation. This work was summarised in the annual
report, which outlines 47 private sector-led initiatives and strategic recommendations across key
economic sectors.
Delegates also discussed a landmark white paper that could meaningfully contribute to
addressing the skills and technology shortages in BRICS economies. Titled “Tackling Skills and
Tech Shortages in BRICS,” the paper contains a blueprint to address labour market imbalances.
