PARTICIPATION IN A WORKING GROUP

Agribusiness

The Aviation Working Group is primarily focused on initiatives to improve air connectivity between the BRICS Countries and their regions.

This incorporates initiatives to strengthen the various elements in the aviation value chain including airport infrastructure, aircraft manufacturing, aircraft servicing, technical training and related industries.

The Digital Economy presents significant opportunities for emerging countries to accelerate their development and diversify their economies through widespread adoption and adaptation of digital advancements.

The Digital Economy Working Group is primarily focused on improving the digital capabilities and capacities of the BRICS countries and their regions through skills development, digital infrastructure rollout, digital innovation and enhancing intra-BRICS connectivity

The FSWG, which forms an integral part of the BRICS Business Council, serves as a facilitator of cooperation through:

  • Driving interaction among the business communities with a view to better understand the market opportunities, build synergies, and
  • Performing the advocacy role between business and the broader BRICS community.
  • Promoting cooperation for inclusive and sustainable economic development.

The purpose and role of the EGE WG is taken from the mandate of the broader BRICS Business Council but is specific to the energy and green economy sectors.  The EGE WG mandate is therefore to identify key areas related to the energy sector where it makes sense for the BRICS country business to work together in areas of mutual interest and benefit in order to strengthen and promote economic, trade, business and investment ties among the business communities of the 5 BRICS countries.

The Infrastructure working group (IWG) is focused on infrastructure acceleration and trade route development. The IWG remains focused on identifying opportunities for business to partner with Governments to promote the green and low-carbon development of infrastructure, collaboration within the BRICS member countries and provision of financial support for the development of sustainable infrastructure projects
